A tribute to the old, a lesson for the young: in the Valley and Legends Museum you can see what a hotel room looked like around 1900, which skis were used for the first Lauberhorn races or what life was like for the mountain farmers in the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Alemannic settlers and immigrants from the Lötschental have contributed to the development of a multi-layered folklore in our valley.

With their ten glacier waterfalls inside the mountain, accessible via a tunnel lift and illuminated, the Trümmelbach Waterfalls are unique in Europe.

The Trümmelbach drains the huge glacier walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and carries up to 20 000 litres per second.

The only glacier waterfalls in Europe that lie inside the mountain and are still accessible!

Museum on three floors with exhibitions on agriculture, home economics, winter sports, mountaineering and the history of Grindelwald.

The museum is open from the end of December to the end of March and from the beginning of June to mid-October from Tuesday to Friday and on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm.
